HoloLens Reveal Shows Microsoft Going Augmented Rather Than Virtual Reality
Well, this could be a game changer. Alongside Windows 10, the untethered HoloLens was revealed at the event Microsoft was holding in Redmond yesterday.
Fiddling with our perception of reality Is certainly the next order of business in the technology world with the Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus trying to replace our entire reality with virtual experiences, while Google Glass and now Microsoft's HoloLens just trying to overlay just some of it.

This video shows the possible applications for the tech, and frankly, the potential is nearly limitless with how this could benefit business, socialize, play and even the way we buy possessions. Maybe one day we will just live in white rooms with a fridge and toilet while all of our worldly possessions are replaced with digital overlays. I mean, I'm joking, but at the same time, I'm kinda not.
Now, I'm inherently skeptical of the technology's capabilities 'out of the box', but if you just spend a little time looking, you will see people who have tried the device first hand are raving about it. Especially those who played the devices Minecraft-like game Holobuilder.
The real bit of exciting news is that this is set to come to us in 'just a few months.' I'm endlessly intrigued by this device. The future of the device will come with support and application by an audience. Really, this will likely be ensured when we know a price.
