John Wick Filmmaker On His Love for Blade, And Kevin Feige
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski shared his thoughts on the leader behind the MCU, admitting, "Look, I've worked for Marvel, a bunch, and they've been very, very good to me. Kevin Feige… he's almost been a bit of a mentor in the capacity of advice he was very happy to give me about how to open up a franchise with John Wick."
When asked what title he'd like to be a part of, Stahelski divulged some slight insight into the state of Marvel's Blade, adding, "Of all the things out there, I would take a swing at [adapting Blade] in a second. Like, that's one that gets under my skin, like 'Ah! I'd take a swing at that one.'" elaborating, "We've talked about it, but look they've got a good formula… they have their thing going and I think they've got the right people involved in Blade now…"
Speaking of Blade, just last month, Blade star Mahershala Ali also offered fans some optimism about the upcoming film, teasing, "We're working on it. That's the best I could tell you. I'm really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we'll be back at it relatively soon… I'm sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who's on board and who's leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that. So that's the extent of what I can tell you."
Blade currently has a theatrical release planned for November 7, 2025. Will you be watching?
