Kidnapping Charges Against Former WWE Cruiserweight Champ Rich Swann Dropped

The charges against former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann have been dropped. Swann was arrested back in December following an incident between and his girlfriend, fellow wrestler Su Yung. According to the police report, Yung alleged that Swann chased her when she tried to exit his vehicle and forced her back into the car, leading to a charge of false imprisonment. However, those charges have now been dropped after, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, prosecutors found there was not evidence to proceed.

Swann was indefinitely suspended immediately following his arrest, as per WWE's zero tolerance policy on domestic violence. WWE has not announced whether Swann's suspension will be lifted, but Swann's lawyer said in a statement that he'll do everything he can to get Swann back in WWE.

We are very pleased with the resolution of these charges. We would like to thank the State Attorney's Office for conducting a thorough investigation, as well as Mr. Swann's family, friends, and fans that supported him through this. During our representation of Mr. Swann, we have come to know him as a kind and humble young man, who we believe has a bright future ahead of him. We are hopeful that with the dismissal of these charges Mr. Swann will be able to return to the WWE and our firm will do everything we can to assist him in returning to the ring. Thank you.

Current WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore was fired earlier this week after allegations of sexual assault were made public. WWE plans to introduce a general manager to 205 Live, it's Cruiserweight-focused weekly show, in an attempt to revive the division.
