Massive Potential Spoilers For Game Of Thrones Season 7 Hit Reddit (SPOILERS)
According to a report from The Concourse, spoilers for HBO's upcoming Game of Thrones Season 7 posted to Reddit appear to be somewhat plausible. The spoilers were first posted by an anonymous user going by the username awayforthelads on the subreddit /r/freefolk, which advertises "unmoderated" discussion of Game of Thrones and George R. R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire books upon which the show is based. Another anonymous user, starkandlannister, who claims to be a major actor or actress on the show according to The Concourse, disputed the legitimacy of the spoilers, suggesting they're little more than educated speculation.
The user account of awayforthelads was eventually deleted, and the posts along with it. However, Reddit is a notoriously resourceful place, and in addition to screenshots of the original posts saved to imgur, a third Reddit user, maureencreates, has taken the time to organize all of the spoilers into a timeline that seeks to match each one up with reports from the filming of the show, which is happening right now in Spain, which appears to lend some credence to their authenticity, at least as far as it is possible to though of course it should be noted that none of this information is confirmed or official, and so should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. Another Reddit user, dimbismp, compiled all of the spoilers from the now-deleted post into a single bulleted list, which can be viewed here.
Did you follow all of that? We hope so, because we're totally lost. In any case, if you're interested in these maybe real, maybe not spoilers, scroll down for some highlights, or click one of the links above for a full rundown.
In what's probably the juiciest spoiler, Jon and Daenerys team up as many fans have speculated they would, and the season ends with the pair having sex while The Wall falls. Jon, whose long-suspected parentage was confirmed to viewers last season, doesn't find out that he's actually a half-Targaryen himself, though Sam and Bran do figure it out. Oh, and his name is actually Aegon.
In other Stark family news, Littlefinger tries to play Sansa and Arya against each other, but he fails and Arya kills him. The notorious Dorne subplot is apparently wrapped up early in the season, with Cersei and Jamie Lannister defeating the Martells and Tyrells. Cersei forms a reluctant alliance with Jon and Dany after they show her a live wight, but she betrays them at the last minute by not sending troops to help them stop the undead invasion. Jaime leaves Cersei to head North and join up with Jon. Oh, and Cersei is pregnant.
And that's not even half of it! There's a ton more details, so head to the links above if you need more. And again, remember, this could all be total bunk (apologies for the language).
