Olympus Has Fallen Gets A Sequel And A Director

According to THR, Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckart and Morgan Freeman have all signed on to reprise their roles from Olympus Has Fallen in the cleverly titled sequel: London Has Fallen. Fredrik Bond, a video director whose first feature was Charlie Countryman is in talks to direct.

In the script, most recent draft written by Christian Gudegast and initially written by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, the U.S. President (Eckhart) and the Speaker of the House (Freeman) are attending the funeral of the British prime minister when all hell breaks loose. Butler's U.S. Secret Service Agent Mike Banning character is once again assigned to the President.

This appears to be an attempt to turn Agent Banning into the next John McClain.
