Watch: Video of Rian Johnson's Last Jedi On-Set Photo Gallery

Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson loves to take photos. This is not shocking; a glimpse at the filmmaker's Instagram account shows that. What is shocking (and actually pretty cool) is Johnson's collective galleries from various press junkets around the world, as well as his on-set collections.

But really you're here for more Last Jedi goodness, right? So, behold! A video from Inside the Magic compiling a gallery of Johnson's on-set photos from filming Episode VIII:

A lot of hopes and dreams rest on how Last Jedi is received by fans around the world, as it was previously announced by Kathleen Kennedy that Rian Johnson would be helming a whole new trilogy set in a galaxy far, far away in the near future.

"I was the one who said, 'The thing that's interesting to me would be a new trilogy, one story told over three movies, on that big canvas of the Star Wars world. But—go someplace new, meet some new folks, tell a new story,' and they really responded to that," Johnson said of the new set of films.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the 8th film in the main storyline of Star Wars (sorry, Rogue One; you're not one of the numbered saga entries). The original trilogy (numbered episodes IV-VI) contained A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The prequel trilogy (numbered I-III) was The Phantom Menace, The Clones Wars, and Revenge of the Sith. The 'sequel' trilogy (numbered VII-IX) has The Force AwakensThe Last Jedi, and the yet-to-be-titled IX film.

Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on Friday, December 15th, 2017 in the US.
