The Lethal Weapon Series Has A High Bar To Reach

When looking at the fall line-ups for the major networks, one name jumped out and made me shake my head. Lethal Weapon on Fox. I had to wonder not only why would they bother to try, the existing films are so well loved and the team up of Danny Glover and Mel Gibson was so good that there was no way a TV series could even come close.

Then I saw that they got Damon Waynes to play Roger Murtaugh and that seemed like a good idea. Waynes has shown he can do comedy and action and is a big enough name to get peoples attention even if he's been under the radar lately. Then I saw the trailer and met the new Martin RiggsClayne Crawford… and he seems like he can pull off the light-hearted side of the character. But the proof will be if he can pull off the intensity that Gibson brought to the character.

Fox has just released this sneak peek for the series that shows enough to make me want to give it a look when it debuts this fall. Which is a pretty good swing from the "aw hell no" first reaction I had.
