X-Men Red finds the team doing whatever possible to fight the Sentinites while the world fears mutants more than ever before. Is it a good read?
Tom Taylor Archives
I'm a sucker for tight and character-centric one-off tales like this. Tom Taylor defines who this new Jean Grey is, and I dug Pascal Alixe's photorealistic art style It was endearing and enjoyable, and this new Jean Grey seems awesome.

We go back to when Jean Grey first came back and was reunited with her X-Men companions. The newly resurrected mutant had a lot to catch up on and to settle after her extended absence. Does it make for a good read?
If they survive this encounter, they will need to free Storm, discover how she is being controlled, and stop further attacks from falling upon Wakanda.
X-Men Red #4 cover by Travis Charest
Tom Taylor and Mahmud Asrar deliver another compelling issue of X-Men Red with the comic's fourth installment Once more, the story flows well, the characters[...]
The only question is whether Laura can live long enough to reach Doom.
All-New Wolverine #35 cover by David Lopez
Tom Taylor is quite skilled at subverting expectations with his more ambitious comic tales While some moments are especially predictable, he's often able to subvert your expectations later down the line.
I won't go further than that here,[...]
The New Avengers were great, and any excuse to reunite even a part of the team is find by me.
Tom Taylor recreates the chemistry of this group well The flashback scene is weirdly contrived, and it's supposed to give the New Avengers an incentive to recover the remains of Wolverine However, you'd think that they[...]
However, Tom Taylor makes it work with a great team of characters as well as simply telling the story well.
That's not to say that there aren't interesting plot beats here The mystery behind the mutants and the rallying of the hate mob is topical, to put it lightly, and the hate mob which Gambit encounters[...]
That decision may yet tear what is left of the universe apart. Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw have done some incredible things with Thanos, and I'm excited to see how it ends.
X-Men: Red #3 cover by Travis Charest
X-Men: Red #3
For anyone wondering, in the current Marvel X-Men title landscape, X-Men: Red is my pick. Tom Taylor and Mahmud Asrar have killed it with the first two issues, and,[...]
Tom Taylor is content with giving us a bright future It's incurious, but it doesn't wander into the realm of the dreaded "problematic." It's fun, and it already establishes a focused plot within the first issue.
All of this said, there is still time for 'Old Woman Laura' to address these questions and concerns in the[...]
With some nazi-stomping, a solid sense of humor, and an impressive management of tone, Tom Taylor delivered one of the best issues of this series in this installment. Djibril Morissette-Phan and Nolan Woodard deliver on the artistic end of things, and this comic was easily a highlight of the week.

Loss: Ninjak vs[...]
It's gut-wrenching and evocative.
What's also impressive is how Tom Taylor and Djibril Morissette-Phan manage to keep the tone steadily from that hard opening to an ending that involves Wolverine and Amber joyously stomping a Nazi with boots specifically designated for the purpose Mainstream comics often have trouble with tonal whiplash, but All-New Wolverine #32 manages[...]
Writer Tom Taylor recently launched a new core X-Book, X-Men Red, and that book contains the cast from All-New Wolverine Additionally, the original Wolverine, Marvel's favorite Mary Sue, is on his way back to full-time status in the MCU after ending his all-too-brief 154-week death So the writing was on the wall for All-New Wolverine,[...]
It kills any sense of pacing and tension that the decent plotting and good artwork could hope to provide.

Win: X-Men Red is Still Great with #2
My hopes that we finally have another good mainline X-Men title remain high with the second installment of X-Men: Red by Tom Taylor and Mahmud Asrar[...]
It's great that writer Tom Taylor kept her beside Wolverine for this comic The pacing is well managed too; the comic establishes its concepts and moves forward well The comic manages to cover this particular arc of the current story It turns fairly tense in the last third or so of the comic.
The action scenes[...]
Here's hoping that Tom Taylor and Mahmud Asrar can hold this series together.

Terrifics Unite! The Trial of Batwoman! Doctor Strange continues to be damned! There were many wins and losses this week for the comic world, and we're going to list them off here.
Gabby is out on a walk with Jonathan the Actual Wolverine when he finds the people who used to run experiments on him. Gabby wants to shut their operation down, so she calls in Deadpool for backup. Is it a good read?

X-Men: Red opens up with Jean Grey uniting an X-Men team in the hopes of improving the status of mutants in the world with some negotiation and political maneuvering. Does it make for a good read?
Wolverine and her allies learn the true nature of the Orphans of X, and this complicates things greatly. This needs a different approach. Does it make for a good read?
We make no promises about the use of your time, however.

Revealed by X-Editor Mark Paniccia on Twitter, the Nightcrawler appears to be taking a cue from Chris Evans in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer (and defying Henry Cavill's anti-facial hair Justice League stance) by growing a formidable beard.

Wolverine, her aunts, Gabby, Daken, and Jonathan go on the run from the Orphans of X. They must find the creator of the Muramasa Blade. Is it a good read?
Daken and Wolverine return, and Daken explains to everyone who the Orphans of X are and what they want. Is it a compelling read?
Will All-New Wolverine, also written by X-Men Red's Tom Taylor, continue after this book launches?
Earlier today, X-Men editor Mark Paniccia promised to reveal most of the roster of the new X-Men Red series slowly throughout the day, a trickle of life-sustaining clickbait article material for comic book websites to get them through a case of the Mondays[...]
