NXT Beats AEW in Viewership, Dynamite Hits Record Low
The ratings are in, and in this week's skirmish in the Wednesday Night Ratings Wars, WWE NXT won the viewership battle. AEW did win in the key demo rating, but Dynamite also had its lowest viewership ever. Yes, even worse than that Thanksgiving episode.
NXT Beats Dynamite
NXT killed it in viewership, with 786,000 people watching the show last night. That's up from last week's viewership of 746,000 people. In the 18-49 demographic, NXT scored a .19, which is lower than last week's .20. NXT was ranked 26th for night on cable, which was one spot lower than last week.
AEW, on the other hand, saw a massive drop in viewers to their lowest viewership ever. Just 633,000 people tuned in to Dynamite, which is way lower than last week's 772,000. Dynamite was ranked 17th for the night after coming in 8th last week. They did manage to top NXT in the 18-49 demo, with a .22, again way down from last week's .28.
The Bottom Line 'Cause Chad Said So
Oh ho ho ho, AEW fans. Who's laughing now? Okay, sure, The Chadster may have imbibed one too many white claw seltzers since seeing the ratings numbers today, but I would find this just as funny if I was stone cold sober. Sure, AEW may win the ratings war like 95% of the time, but that just makes it so that when NXT wins, it means something. I was telling my wife, Keighleyanne, about that just this morning, but she already agrees with me on this because she told me to please find something else to talk about.
NXT pulled out all the stops this week for the main event, with Keith Lee putting the North American Championship on the line against Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano. AEW put a confrontation between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy in the main event of Dynamite. That imbecile Jude Terror recapped both shows, probably with a stupid AEW bias, so if you want to catch up what happened, you can read about NXT here and here, and Dynamite here and here.
