Get A Sneak Peek At 'Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling' From SDCC 2017
Friends, it's a good time to be a classic Nickelodeon fan.  Over the past few years, Nick has realized that the youngsters who built their fanbase in the 90's are now pre-middle agesters with jobs and money.  Generations before us have had to trade their childhood for financial solvency, but we can have it both!
Next year, the fine folks at Nickelodeon will bring us Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling.  I've just come out of their SDCC panel and all I can say is that 2018 can't come soon enough.
The whole cast is back, including Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko), Tom Kenny (Heffer), Mr. Lawrence (Filbert) and Charlie Adler (Mr. and Mrs. Bighead).  Rocko fans among you may remember that the last episode of the original 1993-1996 run ended with Rocko, Heffer, and Filbert being launched into space.  The upcoming special picks up with the trio as they crashland into the 21st century
The plot of the special picks up as the trio returns to O-Town, 20 years later. Much has changed in the intervening two decades and this special explores "modern life" in much the same way the original did, and in a very meta way.  Rocko, bewildered by how much has changed since the 90's, is dismayed to learn that his favorite show, The Fatheads has been cancelled.  The special revolves around his efforts to bring back his beloved show.  The revival of the old 90's show chronicles the efforts of a character within that show to bring back his favorite show.  If the Fatheads try to bring back the Boneheads, then I just might go permanently crosseyed.  Infinite matrushka dolls just aren't my thing.
Instead of jawing on about the special, why don't you take a sneak peek yourself.  And yes, Rocko's regular hangout WILL be called "The Chokey Chicken".  Not "The Chunky Chicken" Take that standards and practices!
