Sarah Silverman's come a long way as one of several Saturday Night Live alum who's far memorable for her time away from the NBC variety series. While one would expect the actress-comedian to continue on brand into branch out into other on-screen comedies or remain on the stand-up scene, Silverman's first post-SNL project was UPN's Star Trek: Voyager as the 20th-century scientist Rain Robertson in the season three two-parter "Future's End". The episode followed U.S.S. Voyager's encounter with a time ship as it sends them to 1996 Los Angeles as they look to protect their future and someone looking to abuse future technology claiming to "help humanity." While promoting her latest work which includes Netflix biopic Maestro, Silverman appeared on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, who revealed a still from the episode showing her between Tim Russ (Tuvok) on her left firing a phaser and Robert Duncan McNeill (Paris) behind them. You can skip to the 7:10 mark when they talk about Voyager.
Sarah Silverman Breaks Down Her Star Trek Adventure in Front & Behind the Camera
Silverman – First of all, I kiss him [points to McNeill]. I love that you have this picture. I don't have my glasses on, but this does look like the back of my ass. I kissed him at the end of the episode, and he was standing on an apple box because, God forbid, you're the same height as the girl. Then I made out with him *points to Russ* in real life.
Meyers – Oh, wow!
Silverman – Yeah.
Meyers – Can you tell me what job you had on this episode of 'Star Trek: Voyager?'
Silverman – I play a scientist, and I went for the fitting, and I go…they've got me in, like, a half shirt. "Yeah, you're a scientist with, like, a push-up bra and a half shirt."
Meyers – Feels like a scientist would have a bigger backpack than what you had.
Silverman – That's my [Volkswagen] van, which for a very long time, I played someone who drove a VW van. I think three different things I had about this car. The stick is, like, a long stick with a ball at the end.
