Goldeneye Reloaded Launch Trailer
The original Goldeneye was a game that broke all the rules.
First of all it was a movie licence that was released some two years after the associated film, losing any chance of spinoff advertising hype. More than that, it was a movie licence that was – going against the prevailing trend – actually good. Better than that, it became a classic of its kind.
Continuing along its iconoclastic path, Goldeneye is doing to do something if not unique then certainly very rare. It's going to come back from the dead. The Nintendo 64, for which Goldeneye was developed, was discontinued in 1997. Now there's a new version of the game, rebuilt from the ground up, that runs on modern consoles.
It's out on November 1st. Bond 23 isn't out until next year. Just sayin'…
