Check Out The Trailer for ESPN's 30 For 30 Documentary On Vince McMahon's XFL

It was 2001. WWE was still riding high at the end of its popular late 90s Attitude Era. Vince McMahon had an idea – apply the "kayfabe" drama and spectacle of pro wrestling to the real-life violence of professional football. With 8 teams (all owned by the XFL) with names that would make Rob Liefeld proud, such as the Los Angeles Xtreme and the Memphis Maniax, players such as "He Hate Me," announcers like Jesse "The Body" Ventura and "Good Ol'" Jim Ross, scantily clad cheerleaders, and pre-show hosts New York City shock jocks Opie and Anthony, it was pretty much everything you would expect from Vince McMahon's version of a football league.

It lasted for just a single season.

ESPN has produced a documentary on it as part of its 30 for 30 series. The episode will debut on February 2, 2017. Now, ESPN has released the trailer:
