Square Enix Details All The Updates Coming To Final Fantasy XV At E3
No one can seem to get enough of those four idiot boys who are the protagonists to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV, and while there's still that player survey going around, it looks like Square Enix has decided to announce a few other DLC plans at E3 while waiting for the final results.
Not only are we getting a special Final Fantasy XV PSVR title: Monster of the Deep and the long-awaited Episode Prompto, no, that just wasn't enough for us ravenous FFXV players. And so there's more.
In fact, at this point, Square Enix is just referring to FFXV as a universe. It isn't just one game anymore, and granted it hasn't been for a while. We did have A King's Tale as a Gamestop pre-order exclusive which was then made available to everyone. So, it's a universe.
The current projects for the main game are:
- Support of next level hardware including the Xbox One X, first showcased at this year's Xbox E3 2017 Briefing. Final Fantasy XV also supports PlayStation 4 Pro.
- "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto" DLC, where players can experience an all-new episode playing as Prompto on June 27. Future DLC episodes include "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis" and "Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades."
- Free Updates and New Content, including the "Regalia Type-D" update, planned for release on June 27. This new update gives the player greater freedom to drive the Regalia off-road through various environments. Because when given a ride that sweet, you just need to take it off road.
The new projects in the universe of FFXV are:
- Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV, a new fishing action PlayStation®VR game unveiled at the PlayStation E3 Media Showcase and set to release this September.
- King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon, which is a new action RPG mobile game featuring a completely new story and world with multiplayer support for up to four players. This app will be available in 2017 for iOS and Android devices.
