JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor is looking particularly sweet. This arcade-only battle royale title is headed to Japan this winter. For now, you can take in 20 minutes of character Jotaro Kujo's hard-hitting moves. Using his devastatingly powerful Stand called Star Platinum, he can mop the floor with the competition. This video is just the first part of Bandai Namco's planned character gameplay spotlights. That means there should be plenty of additional footage coming soon.

Originally announced in December 2018, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor is a third-person battle royale game. It can support up to 20 players at a time in a single match. It'll be based around Parts 3 to 5 from the anime and manga series. Current playable characters include the following: Jotaro Kujo, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean-Pierre Polnaerff, DIO, Josuke Higashikata, Koichi Hirose, Rohan Kishibe, Giorno Giovanna, Bruno Bucciarati, and Guido Mista.

If you aren't a series fan, you may not know that the characters don't directly fight one another. Instead, they use Stands. Stands are manifestations of the characters' souls, and they're terrifyingly powerful. For instance, Jotaro and DIO's Stands are capable of stopping time for a few brief seconds. Others can help their owners create zippers into space-time virtually anywhere. There are other, weirder Stands that can help you "open" someone's face and read their life story. If this intrigues you, you really should be watching JoJo.

Unfortunately, right now you won't be able to play JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor outside of Japan. . That's frustrating news, especially since we've had most of the console versions of the JoJo games that debuted on consoles come West. Hopefully, after a brief period of time in arcades, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor can make the jump to consoles. You'd think so, anyway, given how battle royale games are still the new hotness.
