Hamilton Day – The Daily LITG, 3rd July 2020

I saw Hamilton a few years ago, back when you could do ths sort of thing, in London after booking tickets 18 months in advance. It costa fair whack but, as I later discovered, a third of what it would have cost on Broadway and we got Giles Terera as Burr which makes all the difference. Anyway, the Broadway cast version of the musical has been filmed and released on Disney Plus and is out today. So that will probably be a thing. And yes, it is basically a multiple-hour extension of the songs of Horrible Histories (which also featured Giles Terera) but that's no bad thing.

The world seems like a terrible and strange place sometimes, but at Bleeding Cool you can still read all about comics, TV shows, games, movies. anf now, stage shows. We have also been covering multiple accusations by many people in and around comic books of sexual harassment, grooming and worse. Bleeding Cool EIC Kaitlyn Booth has held the firm line that we don't repeat accusations on Bleeding Cool without the agreement of those making the claims. Sometimes that means we run stories that others do not, sometimes we don't run stories that others do, sometimes we run stories later. The Daily Lying In The Gutters, remains a long-running run around the day before and the day ahead. Including Transformers, Back To The Future, Alien, and Predator. You can sign up to receive it as an e-mail here.

There would also have been signings, appearances, symposia, all manner of comic book-related events. But a few have gone online, and here are some still happening today, on the Daily LITG.

Hamilton Day - The Daily LITG, 3rd July 2020.

Comic Book birthdays today.

There may not be much of a party atmosphere right now. All depends on which state you are living in. But comic folk are still getting older and still celebrating that special date. With eleven years for us as well.

  • Andy Park, artist on Avengelyne, Glory/Angela, Tomb Raider, Visual Development Supervisor at Marvel Studios
  • Brian Kirsten, publisher of Brain Scan Studios.
