Hey Fandom! It's me, Aaron, back with new comics on Tuesday! What's hot at a comic shop tomorrow is on A Comic Show today! This time I lead with indie books and my personal favorite Zero by Ales Kot!
Zero volume one is only $10 and it gets my highest recommendation. So much so that not only am I offering a money back guarantee, but I'm also flying Ales and Tradd Moore down to the shop on March 14! Watch the video to hear me gush about Zero. Image's Undertow #1 is that kind of magical discovery you used to have to make by scouring Previews and really having your finger on the pulse. Nowadays, you can just check out every Image #1 and pretty much be in the know. I really dug the art and like how Undertow started en medias res, and was set in prehistoric times. It's an Atlantis tales, but it's wholly original. I also like Red Sonja, X-Files Conspiracy: TMNT, and Unity.
Over at DC Comic I'm still feeling love for Harley Quinn. This book is both DC's answer to Deadpool and their lack of humor in the New 52. I also liked the All New 52 Metal Men over in Justice League! I hope Geoff Johns writes some for the new Secret Origins book, he's great at setting up concepts for my old favorite characters. And over in Tony Bedard's Supergirl we get to see her getting the Red Lantern ring.
All New New Warriors #1 was okay. I like Christopher Yost, I really do, but the first issue of New Warriors didn't do all that much for me. I'm an old school fan, so I'll stick around and really hope I can give it a full endorsement with the second issue. However, Punisher #2 was my jam! Nathan Edmonson,Punisher and his corner of the Marvel Universe is working really well. I love a Punisher that can fight common criminals one issue and super villains the next!
