Undertaker OGN Reveals Why Knox County Mayor Kane Set Fire to Home [Spoilers]

Following up on news that they'd sent 20-page excerpts of their upcoming Undertaker original graphic novel to 2 million WWE Network subscribers, explosive comic book publisher BOOM! Studios continues to aggressively market the book with a preview containing some pretty big spoilers, and even bigger accusations. As all WWE fans know, Undertaker's parents were killed in a fire when the Undertaker was a child. Conflicting accounts of the fire's origin have existed for decades. According to the Undertaker's former manager, Paul Bearer, the Undertaker himself lit the fire, both killing his parents and permanently disfiguring Undertaker's half-brother and current mayor of Knox County, TN, Kane. However, Undertaker later blamed Kane for the fire, calling him a pyromaniac, though he later did admit to setting the fire himself. Making matters more confusing, Kane, who long wore a mask to hide his disfigurement, was later revealed to be perfectly healed underneath the mask.

However, in this new preview of Undertaker: Rise of the Deadman, presumably the same one that was sent to WWE Network subscribers, we learn that it actually was Kane who set the fire, though it seems the truth of the circumstances is more nuanced than anybody could have thought. The comic shows that Kane set the fire to save his older brother from their abusive father, not because of pyromania. Further, it seems to be respect and admiration for his older brother that drove Kane to play with matches in the first place.

Check out the preview below.
