Blizzard Teases Future Overwatch Content You Just Won't Believe With A Crytpic Tweet
Blizzard put out a shocking tweet last night about their next update to everyone's favorite MOBA, Overwatch.
Now that the clickbaiting is finished, I'm going to leave you with the tweet to just let it all sink in.
Yep, this is exactly what I made fun of Bungie for doing with Destiny last week, but at least they didn't send out a whole new trailer to tell us they'd be giving us news soon. It's the sort of "let's drum up interest before the announcement" tactic that companies have been doing for years. It just seems like they're putting a lot more effort into it these days.
It looks like we'll be getting some kind of major update to Overwatch, though what exactly we're getting is up to speculation (it really isn't). Is it a new map, a new game mode, or a new character? Is it Doomfist? Probably not. It's likely this is just a seasonal event, probably taking place on the King's Fall map.
The "file" being "declassified" on April 11 has to do with the King's Row Uprising, which, if you know your Overwatch lore means you know that the King's Row stage is set in Britain and that Tracer hails from the UK. And if you look closely into that tweet you'll see what could be a new skin for Tracer. So it's pretty likely that she'll be involved in whatever it is that we're getting on the 11th.
So, a new event in King's Row with a new Tracer skin, sounds like fun. Not sure it needed the hype though.
