GDC: Square Enix Shows Off PC Tech Test For FFXV
The latest in Final Fantasy XV news is great for PC players. At GDC Square showed off a tech test for the game using Nvidia's latest GTX 1080 Ti.
The tech demo shows off many of the environments from the game with different elements added to show off the lighting changes with the latest tech from Nvidia. There are also a few clips from your summons abilities with Ramuh, Shiva, and Titan which have been subtly toyed with. You can see the difference with how shadows play on Noctis and Lunafreya's faces and how characters move over different textures. It's rather fascinating.
A few other changes were shown including a monster truck Regalia. Which- why? It's a gorgeous car why would you make it a monster truck?
While I sit here quitely weeping over the defiling of such a gorgeous piece of virtual machinery, you all can watch the test below.
FFXV is, right now, on Xbox One and PS4 only. The game's director Hajime Tabata has spoken about wanting to move the game to PC so this tech test might be a hint that the team is working on it. Which is good news for PC players who want to experience the epic bromance that is Final Fantasy XV.
In other FFXV news, it's been revealed that Noctis was based on Kurt Cobain, the update will not be changing Cindy's outfit, and the 2D platformer spinoff A King's Tale will be made available for everyone instead of being a Gamestop exclusive.
