Magic: The Gathering's Jumpstart Preview Round-Up: June 19th
Hello, players, fans, and collectors of Wizards of the Coast's famous trading card game Magic: The Gathering! While the July release, the Limited-style expansion known as Jumpstart, will have a bunch of reprinted cards in it, quite a few of the 20-card packs will feature cards that are completely new to the game. Let's look at some of these!
To kick things off, let's look at the card whose art we have featured above. This card is meant to be released in a Wall-centric theme pack for Jumpstart and as such, you can expect it to work very well with creatures that have Defender. It's Towering Titan!
Much like the Sir Mix-A-Lot song, Towering Titan "likes big butts", and we cannot lie – this card is a beast. In a deck with creatures that have high toughness, this card could get gigantic quickly, especially since creatures with Defender have low costs and high toughness. The set up is fast and the payoff is great, much like this card. Moving on!
Speaking of creatures that could become large quickly, Ormos, Archive Keeper is… likely not one of them. However, if you want to build a deck that focuses on milling yourself to the critical point of having zero cards in your library, Ormos can be humungous in no time.
Finally, in the Unicorn-themed pack (and yes, there's a Unicorn-themed pack!), we have Blessed Sanctuary. This card is like a one-sided, extra-strong Genesis Chamber mixed with a Mark of Asylum, and we are here for it! Hopefully the other Unicorn cards in that pack will synergize well with Blessed Sanctuary for the sake of stampeding over the opposition.
