Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Will Be Coming Next Year EA Suggest
I really like DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront, but it clearly wasn't the finished article. Somewhat like the first Titanfall, the moment to moment was amazing, but without a single player and a meaningful progression system around the multiplayer, it was hard to stick with for too long.
That is why there is hope the the developer will get it right the second time and it seems that might be sooner rather than later. During an earnings call (via Polygon), Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen said we could probably expect the second game "a year from now". Without an announcement yet, that's a lot sooner then EA usually start their marketing.
This of course would line the game up next to Star Wars: Episode VIII, much like the first one did The Force Awakens. I say bring it on too. Much like EA have done with Titanfall 2, hopefully the sequel comes with a campaign and a deeper progression system.
