Konami Are Looking At Making Another Metal Gear Solid Game
The Konami and Hideo Kojima debacle seems to have come to an end for the moment, but Metal Gear Solid V has done very well, selling over 5 million copies in its first month. This puts Konami in a very interesting position.
While, many assumed the company was moving into a mobile space, it seems that the publisher is considering a new game in the franchise already. According to Kotaku, via Nikkei, the publisher is considering the next in the series already. It's not clear if Kojima will be involved in anyway at this point. In a statement, Konami did say that:
When we start development, a large-scale investment will become necessary.
That's a 'when', not 'if'.
Despite the rift between the two parties, I can see a world when Kojima is brought onto to consult on the game. Hell, he could even be brought back onto freelance the game if he had any interest. I wouldn't call that 'likely' at all, but also not 'impossible'.
