Arrow Season 6: Oliver Queen Name Checks A Major DC Character

The end of the season premier of Arrow Season 6, Oliver Queen was outed on the Channel 52 news as being the Green Arrow. Kind of a big deal in that he's currently the Mayor of Star City and just last season declared Green Arrow a criminal. How is he going to get out of this? Not for a while as they are introducing FBI agent Samanda Watson who will be looking into the connection. But the word is that there is going to be a big name drop in tomorrow night's episode. I'll say who after the image.

Still here? From what Comicbook.com is reporting, Oliver Queen is going to have a press conference to address the photo, claiming that it is a fake and that it could be anyone in that suit, even Bruce Wayne. It's a funny reference in that when first created, Green Arrow was essential a Batman knock-off with a Robin Hood motif. Also, when Arrow first came on, a lot of folks said it was too much like Batman and they have borrowed a lot of the Dark Knight's villains.

This is not the first time that Bruce Wayne has been mentioned in the Arrowverse. He has been talked about on Supergirl as her cousins dark friend, etc. The name "Bruce" appeared on the phone when Barry Allen went to Earth-2 and the future newspaper we saw in the pilot episode of the Flash talks about Queen Industries being bought out by Wayne Technologies.

I doubt that Oliver knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman, so this isn't him trying to out the guy to defend himself.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9 PM on the CW.
