Bryan Singer's Queen Biopic, Bohemian Rhaspody, Fills Out The Band
Bryan Singer's long-in-the-works biopic or the rock band Queen is moving forward. It was recently reported that Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) would be portraying the band's legendary front man Freddy Mercury in the film titled Bohemian Rhapsody after one of the bands biggest hit songs.
Joining Malek will be Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) will play drummer Roger Taylor. Hardy has long been rumored to be joining the film. Gwylym Lee (The Holy Crown) has been cast as lead guitarist and co-founder of the band Brian May, and Joe Mazzello (The Social Network) has been tapped to play bassist and financial manager John Deacon.
Queen was a very interesting band in that each member would contribute to the song writing. Taylor co-wrote several of their hits like Under Pressure and These Are The Days of Our Lives and Deacon composed You're My Best Friend and Another One Bites the Dust. May wrote or co-wrote We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You, The Show Must Go On and many others. All for members would also add vocals to the songs making songs like Bohemian Rhaspody so unique.
The film is working from a script penned by Justin Haythe (Red Sparrow, Revolutionary Road).
