Guggenheim And Klemmer Give Hints To DC's Legends Of Tomorrow
Phil Klemmer and Marc Guggenheim, executive producers for the upcoming DC's Legends of Tomorrow, talked with THR about the new series, the tone and just how some of the heroes may not make it through the entire trip.
When asked about the tone for the series, Klemmer referred to a popular comic run that might surprise some: "The show will contain elements of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis' Justice League International run." Now that particular run is known more for it's humor than anything else, so we can expect the series to be lighter in tone… but Klemmer says that dark elements like betrayal will come along as well.
They also revealed some information about the Hawks. Hawkman / Carter Hall will debut prior to the DCLoT premiere and will retain the memory of all his pasts lives. Hawkgirl / Kendra Saunders will have no memory of her previous lives. We will also get to see her origin story and it is supposed to be the most faithful origin they've told yet.
When asked about the rules for time travel and the effects they might have on history, Guggenheim brought up Time Masters: Vanishing Point as their got to place for time traveling rules and good place to go for a depiction of Rip Hunter.
They said that the character of Jay Jackson is not a code name for an established DC character and that we won't be seeing Booster Gold any time in the first season.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow will debut in early 2016.
