Everyone is wondering what's going to happen next with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the truth is we know very little about what's going to happen post-Avengers 4. We know Spider-Man has a sequel coming out that summer, and James Gunn confirmed that a third Guardians of the Galaxy film was on the way but didn't give a release date. Well, he might have mostly confirmed that release date while doing a brief Facebook live video on Sunday.
I hope you enjoyed it [Avengers: Infinity War], I hope you're excited to see what comes next a year from now if you've seen the movie with Avengers 4, and then two years from today, or around this time, we'll have Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Looking at a calendar, two years from now the most likely candidate, considering the dates, would be May 1st, 2020. However, it could be a week before on April 24th or the week after on May 8th — but it sounds like early summer/late spring is when we'll be seeing the Guardians on another solo outing.
Summary: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
