Ratchet And Clank Are Back In This New PlayStation 4 Trailer

Honestly, I thought Ratchet and Clank had had their day. Insomniac Games most iconic mascots are great, but up until last year, they had been fairly silent of late. Then they got a movie deal and off the back of that, a new game has been announced.

This trailer dropped for the game, simply titled Ratchet and Clank, yesterday and it looks like a boatload of fun. Insomniac games is also having fun with the 'game based on a movie based on a game' line.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac's community lead James Stevenson, explained how this game evolved to become a new title saying:

We knew early on that we didn't want to just up-res Ratchet & Clank for PS2. We started out thinking of Ratchet & Clank (PS4) as a "re-imagining" of the 2002 original, revised to tie in with the deeper version of Ratchet's origin story as seen in the film. We envisioned a curated Ratchet & Clank experience that borrowed from the spirit of the classic PS2 titles while infusing some of the best elements from the Ratchet & Clank Future games.

So yeah, it looks like we are on the dawn of a second era of Ratchet and Clank. You know what? I'm pretty excited about that.

That game is slated for a 2016 release alongside the movie.
