It's a new year, and the DC Universe is looking ahead to new beginnings. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was the last piece of media connected to the previous era of the DC Universe that needed to come out, and that film is sinking like a stone. Now that it is all behind us, everyone can only look ahead. While some people are talking about all of the fantastic things happening on the TV side, many eyes are squarely focused on Superman: Legacy. This is a character that modern-day writers have had a hard time wrapping their heads around, for some reason, with most modern iterations of the character being controversial in one way or another. We are still a ways away from this film coming out, but people are talking about who aren't writer and director James Gunn on Threads. Rachel Brosnahan will be the new Lois Lane. She attended the Golden Globes last night, and Extra got the chance to speak to her. Brosnahan dodged any specifics about what would make her Lois or their version of this character different. Still, she did reveal that this is all a very collaborative process between herself, Superman star David Corenswet, and Gunn.

"We've been having a lot of great conversations, David [Corenswet] and I, with James Gunn, the director, talking a lot about where this project fits into the canon the Superman's that we know. So hopefully, we'll be putting our own stamp on things."

The cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Superman: Legacy currently has a July 11, 2025 release date.
