Tin Star Season 1: Tim Roth As A Lawman With A Dark Past
Tin Star is a British drama series created by Rowan Joffe that is already airing on Sky Atlantic, but will be released on Amazon Prime this Friday. The ten-part series stars Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks.
The synopsis Amazon has says:
Set in the majestic Canadian Rockies, Tin Star tells the story of a former British detective who brings his family to the tiny, tranquil town of Little Big Bear for a better life. But when his small town is overrun by migrant workers from a massive new oil refinery, the wave of organized crime that follows them threatens to sweep away everything in its wake and dig up the past.
But it's a far more complicated series than that. Roth plays the form London police detective Jim Worth who moves to escape his own past. Hendrick's plays Mrs. Bradshaw, the mysterious head of a big oil company that is bringing in the migrant workers. A wave of crime threatens the town and Worth stands up to it, but ends up having him and his family attacked by a group of vigilantes. This leads Worth to slip into his violent alter-ego of Jack Devlin… who wants revenge.
If you don't mention that last part in the synopsis, you're kind of burying the lead.
Tin Star season 1 premieres Friday, September 29th.
