2nd Generation Pokemon Will Arrive On Pokemon Go This Week

Pokemon Go was a summer phenomenon, but some folks are getting restless. Where are the next gen Pokemon? Well, worry not friends. They'll be here soon.

Niantic Labs announced that over 80 new Pokemon will be added to the game later this week, all of whom originally appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver – as well as Pokemon Crystal though I may be the only one who remembers that title.\

This new release is all part of a major update that includes the following:

• Evolution items which will be coming to a PokeStop near you to evolve Porygon, Scyther, and Scizor
• Gender specific variation for some Pokemon like Pikachu
• The Nanab and Pinap berries. Nanab slows down a wild Pokemon's movement while the Pinap doubles the amount of candy you receive for a successful capture.
• New encounters – Niantic says wild Pokemon will react differently to you when you approach, what this means exactly is unclear however.
• New avatar clothing options because everyone wants to look their best while catching Pokemon
