Providing DRM Free Books – The SDCC ComiXology Panel
Madeline Ricchiuto writes for Bleeding Cool:
Featuring: N. Steven Harris, John D. Roberts, Brandon M. Easton, Joshua Fialkov, Becky Cloonan, and Chip Mosher.
100 Books for $10 for International Comiccon, brings you 100 books from ComiXology Submit. The deal is available until 7/27.
Your comics can now be provided DRM free on ComiXology.
ComiXology Submit is a curated platform of self-published comics, with no rights taken, no up-front fees. ComiXology only takes 50% of the profits, which is actually a really good deal.
Submit conquers multiple challenges that face Creators, from getting print deals to syndication.
There is no approval process to deal with, creators simply need to create the book. ComiXology reaches a much larger audience than any other publishing platform, given its accessibility. For artists looking to break into the business, or new readers, it is an invaluable resource.
The review process is slow, but improving.
They auto-reject projects using comic-sans. So hire a print-press person, hire a letterer, so you don't have to worry about it. And proofread.
Analytics may be a feature of comixology soon. Maybe.
