'Dropmix' Is Basically Making You A Fighting DJ

Hasbro and Harmonix had a little something special to show off at E3 this year in Dropmix, which kind of made me excited to get back into deck building games while still being a music fan. The game is a combination of a five-card board along with a deck of cards, each of them containing a sample from a popular song. You get sections of vocals, bass, guitar, drums and other instruments that ban be mixed and matched from several genres.

I got to try out a couple different modes on Dropmix, including one-on-one fighting and team battle. You earn points by dropping specific cards at certain points in time to earn points. All the while, you're making brand new mixes of music for everyone to jam to as you battle. And if you like the mix you can save it to the game to play whenever you want.

Dropmix was awesome to play, but I want a lot more time with it than I got at E3. There's some awesome potential in the game that I can't wait to see this fall as they release the main system and booster decks (all of which you can see so you know you're not buying duplicates) for musical party games.
