The Current Nintendo Switch Launch Lineup Is Quite Thin On New Titles

The world is abuzz with news of the Nintendo Switch today. Nintendo's new console is the talk of the gaming world now, as excitement, disappointment, hopes and worries all swirl around in delightful conversation.

However, there is one thing that I keep seeing continually come up around the console, and that is its launch library. In the console's presentation, it only showed off two launch titles, 1 2 Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Since then, more have been announced, but as of right now, the lineup is hardly looking stellar. As pointed out by Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, these are the games currently set for the launch of the console come March 3rd.

The most disheartening thing in this? In all of these, only Snipperclips, 1 2 Switch, Has Been Heroes, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Bomberman R are the only ones that aren't re-releases. And even with that stated, the big hitter expected to lift the console, Zelda, is available on the Wii U on the same day as the Switch.

It's not all doom and gloom mind. There are quite a few big titles coming in the early months for the Nintendo Switch, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Arms and Splatoon 2 set to be released before Summer's end. Still, for early adopters, I think there is enough to at least be mindful of.
