Google is Hosting A New Stadia Connect This Week

After remaining somewhat quiet about the future of its video game streaming service, Google is bringing the masses a special Stadia Connect stream this week. On Tuesday, April 28, you can tune into the official Google Stadia YouTube channel to see what's next for the world of Stadia. You'll want to tune in at 12:00 PM ET, as the company will be announcing "a few new games coming to Stadia," among some other surprises here and there. These are likely the same new timed exclusives that the company promised back in January 2020. Said exclusives were supposed to be coming to the platform by July 2020, with ten more games being added to the catalog.

There are several games already confirmed to be headed to the service, including Superhot, The Elder Scrolls Online, Marvel's Avengers, Kona, and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. Google clarified its newest additions in a recent blog post and also made sure to let everyone know of its changes to the service.

In case you missed it, Google previously announced that it had opted to get rid of the Stadia Base name for the free tier service. Using Stadia is now free for anyone who has a Google or Gmail account, and there were a series of free games available with a two-month Stadia Pro trial. Anyone with Stadia Pro subscriptions also was awarded two free months for free as well. There's a wide variety of different games you can already pick up on Stadia, but it seems it just hasn't caught on the way everyone thought it might. If you don't have a formidable internet connection, you may as well be using regular hardware, unfortunately. It will be interesting to see what Stadia has up its sleeve as the months pass by, though, so we'll be sure to tune in as well.
