Let's Take a Look at the Transformers TCG Metroplex Deck
The Transformers Trading Card Game debuted in the fall , and was an instant success with both collectors and gamers. The games easy to pick up system and oversized Bot cards caused a bit of a frenzy when the initial push of product took place. They sold out all over, and continue to move briskly. Into that market is the latest Team Deck for all of you Autobot players and collectors: Metroplex! The Metroplex deck is the latest release, and Hasbro was nice enough to send us one over to take a look at. Let's dive in.
Of course, the first thing you are going to notice is how big the card is. The Metroplex card is almost 8 inches tall, and good luck finding a sleeve for it. The set comes with the Titan class Transformer, along with three other bots: Scamper, Six-Gun, and Slammer. Also included is a 40 card battle deck, which features three cards not available in regular packs or the Autobot starter pack: Rally The City, Height Advantage, and Protected By Metroplex. It is kind of funny to see the other cards next to the big guy, and having the Titans in the game is going to be a fun time.
When adding Metroplex to your deck , he has staying power around two robots in box city mode and bot mode. While his health is 35, his attack is not the greatest and he doesn't have much defense. Makes sense, he is built to take hits and stay standing. Combining him with the other three bots in the pack or others, get to deploying and attacking quickly. Multiple rounds will be required to be able to dispatch the full range of what the card is capable of.
Once you do though, it is a ton of fun to play with. It is well worth the $20 price tag, and an interesting addition to the card series. We all wait with bated breath for the inevitable Trypticon Decepticon pack. Just be sure to get yourself a shoebox to keep them in.
