Brooklyn Won't Be In The Division's One To One Recreation Of New York At Launch
There has been a lot of The Division content this week as a few previews have gone live. One of the revelations that has been thrown around is that the game's version of New York City is more or less "one to one". If you live in the Manhattan area, you should be able to go and find your street and look at your house post-apocalypse.
However, if you are in Brooklyn, sadly you are out of luck. Speaking to The Examiner (via GameSpot) creative director on the game Magnus Jansen explained the borough will be excluded. Jansen said:
For Tom Clancy's The Division we are going with Midtown Manhattan. It is because of the 1-to-1 recreation and the way the pandemic has [happened]. Basically, everything has been hit and there are no more resources because everyone tried to get out. There is no more gasoline in the cars, there is no traffic, you're on foot.
I wouldn't rule out more of New York in future updates though, post launch as DLC. Perhaps even Queens could show up.
