Microsoft Sold 6.6 Million Consoles During Q4 2014

xbox-one-featured-image-600x404In both November and December, the Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4 for the first time since the consoles came out. A significant price drop bringing it in line with the PlayStation 4 showed consumers flocking to Microsoft's console in a big way. That's been good for the market as both consoles have been duking it out on an even playing field with quality dictating consumers rather than price.

Microsoft have now shared some numbers, painting a more complete picture of their success. In their latest earning report, the corporation claimed to have sold 6.6 million Xbox's from October to the end of December.

It's important to point out that this is for all Xbox consoles, so the percentage of Xbox Ones to Xbox 360s isn't exactly clear. I'd guess more than a healthy portion of sales were for the newer console though as the Xbox One has been outselling the pace set by the 360 launch quite substantially.
