Report Says Bungie Might Sell Ammo For Real Money [Updated]
When Destiny: The Taken King came out, there was a renewed sense of optimism about the title, it now having a killer new raid and a rejuvenated story. Since then we've seen controversial micro-transactions added, and while there have been minor seasonal events, the game has gone through a long period without any new major content.
Well, here is some more troubling news. In a report by VG247, they are saying their sources at Bungie have confirmed that the developer is looking to sell ammo in the game by way of synthesis, which refuel a guns ammo capacity when used.
This is only a report, and not confirmed, but if this is true, this is another worrying sign for Destiny. Micro-transactions, at least those that affect gameplay, can really hurt this title's experience and fanbase. I can't wait to see what is next for the franchise, and I just hope it isn't more micro-transactions.
UPDATE:
Thankfully, it seems that this report might have been debunked. Activision have told GameInformer that "We're not doing that". Now, if we could just get that new content.
