Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Finishes Drive At $6.3 Million
Shenmue 3 was always going to to go very well. It's a beloved franchise that fans have been begging would return for years. Oh, and a prime spot at Sony's E3 press conference helps a whole lot too.
The Kickstarter ended this weekend amounting the grand total of $6.3 million. This makes it the most successful video game Kickstarter of all time, surpassing Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Shenmue 3 is slated for a December 2017 release, but honestly, I will be shocked if it hits that date. Projects like this usually have long productions and I'd be surprised if much of the game had been worked on yet. Hopefully we will hear about how the title is going from developer Ys Net during production. I'll keep you up to date as information comes in.
