The Web Slinging Pinball Kid: Spider-Man Pinball
Spider-Man is one of the most iconic superheroes ever created. Since his introduction in the 1960's, Spider-Man has appeared in TV shows, records, toys, lunchboxes, and even pinball machines. In 1980 Gottlieb introduced The Amazing Spider-Man pinball, an enjoyable comic themed machine. If you get the chance to play it I highly recommend it.
Then in 2007, Stern released their own Spider-Man machine based on the Tobey McGuire films. Designed by pinball great Steve Ritchie, the play field is beautiful.
There are a number of games to play within the pinball, mostly revolving around defeating various Spider-Man villains. The toys are also nothing to sneeze at. Doc Oc has a magnet that holds onto your ball, causing a "Fusion Malfunction"; Sandman will eat your ball and then shoot it back at you; Green Goblin hovers above his targets; and Venom will fire your ball back at you via the left ramp. The pin is pretty easy to get a high score on, or maybe that's just me. I've owned various incarnations of this machine; home use, PRO, LE, and I've even had the Vault Edition which is done up in comic book art. But at the end of it, the original 07 model is the best one.
Plus, who doesn't want J. Jonah Jameson yelling at them as they play?!
