Weekly Rituals In Destiny: Age Of Triumph – What's New?

age-of-triumph-teaser

This week's Destiny: Age of Triumph reveal focuses on the updates to the weekly rituals. Today's stream featured Tim Williams and Joe Sifferman, who were joined community manager David "Deej" Dague to give us details about the update, which hits March 28, and how it reworks the game's weekly activities.

This first change is the Treasure of Ages, which is given out by Tess Everis at the Eververse Trading Company store. That treasure will offer armor, weapons, and other limited items from throughout Destiny's history, including the Desolate Taken and Spektar armor sets and seasonal items. Many of those same items will now be in the expanded silver dust store for purchase with silver dust taken from broken down gear.

There will also be a new 12-step quest from The Speaker which will take you through all different types of Destiny activities. It will begin with the new weekly story playlist, which will replace the daily story quest. The new playlist will mix stories from all of Destiny's expansions into collected groups. The playlist will offer one Treasure of Ages per week and 20 legendary marks five times per week for a total of 100 legendary marks.

There will also be a change to the activity bar in the bottom left-hand corner of the Director screen . The Challenge of Elders has been added to the bar at a new 390 difficulty and will offer 10 legendary marks three times a week for a total of 30 legendary marks. The regular Siva Crisis Heroic playlist now offers a weekly Treasure of Ages in addition to it's usual allotment of 30 legendary marks per week (in three 10 mark installments).

Lord Shaxx will also get some changes, as he will start offering two weekly bounties for six-v-six modes. You can also purchase arena items for silver dust as well.

Oh right and the weekly Nightfall strike will remain, but the new Daybreak modifier will increase the difficulty of enemies and recharge rate for specials, like the Mayhem Crucible mode. Bungie seemed confident that the Daybreak modifier will offer a difficulty level equal to the Nightfall strikes, and it will come around once a month. Except for the six straight weeks of Daybreak strikes from july 18 to August 22nd for reasons as of yet unknown.

And the blue flames and experience buff of completing a Nightfall strike will return.

Next week's reveal is slated to cover the new gear, ornaments, weapons, as well as the updated raids and how they plan to re-introduce weapons from older raids.

All in all, there are a lot of changes to come and some older favorites are coming back. Age of Triumph is looking to be a net positive for players.
