SyFy Sets Original Movie Ratings Record With Sharknado 2
Its seems that Wednesday night isn't just new comic day, it also appears to be campy movie night as a lot of people stayed in and watched Sharknado 2: The Second One. Deadline is reporting that the ratings for the SyFy original movie was a record 3.9 million viewers. That's up 183% from last summers original and it beat out several broadcast shows last night including Extant (CBS), So You Think You Can Dance (FOX) and Motive (ABC).
The movie also soared in the social media world as it generated 581,000 related tweets from 188,000 unique users. These tweets included folks like Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and DC Co-publisher Dan Didio who both appeared to be live-tweeting the movie.
So we can probably expect a Sharknado 3 announcement any day now….
Sharks on plane, okay; Ian Ziering lands plane, sure; but Andy Dick as a New York cop, don't think #Sharknado 2 is a true story.

When you get caught between a sharknado and New York City, the best that you can do is fall in love. #Sharknado2
