Another Loss for CM Punk as Brock Lesnar Breaks Championship Reign Record

What started off as a promising month for former WWE Champion CM Punk has quickly gone down the tubes. Punk started off the month of June by winning his court battle against WWE doctor Chris Amann, who was suing Punk for comments made Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast in 2014. However, Punk's victory was short-lived, as he lost his second-ever UFC fight against a blogger, prompting Dana White to suggest Punk move on to another pastime. Now, Punk's record as the longest-reigning world champion of the modern era has been broken by Brock Lesnar, a part-timer who wrestles just a few times per year.

WWE announced Lesnar's milestone in an article on WWE.com today, even implying that the reign could go on even longer (especially if WWE can't figure out how to get fans to cheer Roman Reigns properly).

That Lesnar has powered his way into the history books is impressive in and of itself, but given that no challengers have yet to emerge for The Conqueror's throne, the most awe-inspiring aspect of his reign isn't that it has lasted this long, but that it seems unlikely to end anytime soon

While Lesnar's manager, Paul Heyman, took the opportunity to spoil future WWE programming when he took to Twitter to post:

Congratulations to Brock Lesnar, and condolences to CM Punk. Hopefully things turn around for the Punkster soon.
