Phoenix Comic Fest Convention Center Evacuated in Response to Fire Alarm
Breaking news on the ground from Phoenix Comic Fest at around 7:45pm PST was that the convention center was evacuated in response to an alarm having been triggered and the public announcement system broadcasting a request for everyone to vacate the building. The event's official social media accounts have expressed that the local fire department units are on-scene and investigating.
Attendees using Twitter indicate that the exit went smoothly and took "5 minutes", which is no small feat to move some 70,000 attendees out of a large convention center. We will update this article as more news becomes available. The inconvenient downside being that while it was a smooth exit, then comes the all-clear and those individuals have to go back through the security checks to get back inside.
