Juan Jose Ryp has been a favourite comic book artist of mine since I first saw his work in Frank Miller's Robocop, written by Steven Grant, or No Hero and Black Summer, both written by Warren Ellis, and all published by Bleeding Cool's own publisher, Avatar Press But everyone knew, even two decades ago during[...]

Nancy continues her journey across the Hell wasteland, but she is still being tracked by agents of the underworld. Is it a good read?
Why awkwardly villainize an entire nation when you have plenty of decent supervillains lying around?
Ninja-K #8 art by Juan Jose Ryp and Jordie Bellaire
Juan Jose Ryp triumphs in this setup, playing with the powers and fighting styles of the characters in sequences of beautifully controlled chaos The fight scenes are punchy and intricate, the characters[...]
A new arc kicks off in September's X-O Manowar #19, by Matt Kindt and Juan José Ryp, which Valiant is billing as a jumping-on point for the series.
The book seems unwilling to do that.
However, like I said, there are more good moments here to drown out the sticking points I list here, even if the action doesn't kick off until the very end.
Juan Jose Ryp's is textured well and has a definitive personality to it It can seem grounded while still having[...]
Valiant Entertainment searches Britannia for the Lost Eagles of Rome courtesy of Peter Milligan and Robert Gill this July. This is in addition to Valiant High, Shadowman, Quantum and Woody, Ninja-K, and X-O Manowar.
This was another big week for #1's with Exiles, Domino, Immortal Men, Brothers Dracul, The Dead Hand, and Crude. Which ones were wins? Which ones were losses? Figure out the answer here!
The story focuses on that as opposed to any of the prior elements it set up.
That said, the parade of villains in the last third is cool, and I can't fault anyone for just enjoying that.

Juan Jose Ryp's artwork looks quite good throughout the comic[...]
