PlayStation 4 Back On Top After Successful January; Dying Light Sold The Most Copies
For the last two months, the Xbox One's well publicized price drop carried it to it's first consecutive months a top the console sales race. It looks like the juice provided from that drop may have finally run out though.
The January NPD numbers, as announced by Venture Beat, revealed that the PlayStation 4 was the best selling console for January, taking back the place it held for nearly a year prior to November.
We still don't have an updated total for the PlayStation 4's lifetime sales, but last we heard it was around 18.5 million at the beginning of January. We have to be fast approaching 20 million units sold now. That is ludicrously big number to reach in just over a year.
As for software, Dying Light sold the most copies in January. That is good to see as I quite enjoyed that game. The rest of the list looks pretty similar to how it has looked for a long while though, with titles like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Minecraft taking the other top spots.
The full list is here:
- 1. Dying Light (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
