"Cyberpunk 2077" Is Now Entirely First Person, Apparently
It's been a huge week for Cyberpunk 2077! CD Projekt Red debuted a whopping 15 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming title earlier this week! Now, fans are also getting some clarification on the game's camera perspective. According to a Facebook message exchange between a fan and Cyberpunk 2077's social media profile that was posted to CD Projekt Red's official forums, every cutscene will be in first-person. Before you ask, a first-person camera will also be used in scenes featuring fornication between the protagonist and various NPCs.
This is a huge change from Cyberpunk 2077's 2018 build. The game previously reserved the first-person perspective for gameplay and interactions where the player could make conversational choices, while extended cutscenes utilized a third-person camera. Given the switch, fans are now questioning the purpose of Cyberpunk's extensive character customization options when the result will likely only be viewable via menus or in-game reflective surfaces.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 16, 2020. A Google Stadia version is planned as well.
