From BOOM! Studios and Archaia, comes Feathers #2, written and illustrated by Jorge Corona. The story picks up where we left off in issue one with main characters Bianca and Poe's first encounter. Two unlikely characters come together and react to one another's differences. After the initial shock wears off, Bianca is convinced that Poe is The White Guide, protector of the city, and has assisted her from escaping the guards on purpose. Poe's focus immediately shifts to who this White Guide is. The fact that it has feathers gives him great joy, and makes him want to go to the city. However, that's the last place Bianca wants to go, so they make a deal. If Poe shows her the Maze, she will take him to the city. While the city panics about the "daughter of the city" missing, Bianca and Poe begin their adventure.
I couldn't be more enthralled by Corona's incredible script. The second I started reading, I felt immersed in a classic fairytale world that I could stay in for days. There's something so heartwarming and genuine about the bond that begins to form between these two characters. As they slowly learn more about one another and they way that they've spent their lives thus far, the story unfolds at a perfect pace. We are introduced to the layers of the city and who some of the characters are roaming the streets, all while being entertained by Bianca's sassy spirit and Poe's brave but shy nature. The scenes are beautifully illustrated, and the characters design is playful, detailed, and cheeky. I can't wait to see where Corona takes the story. Don't miss out on this great new release.
