The Kickstarter funding for Alex De Campi and Jimmy/James Broxton/Hodgkins' sequel to Smoke – Ashes – is $7000 shy of its targeted figure. So the pair are giving it a final push with a Bleeding Cool competition.
If you pledge at least $30, getting a copy of the graphic novel, and then post a comment below saying you've done so, you'll be entered into a raffle to have Jimmy/James create an exclusive hand drawn and coloured cover – which is usually a $400 pledge. Which means even if you don't like the book, you'll be able to flip it on eBay.
Or you can choose a separate full colour commission from Jimmy – a rare thing since he doesn't do commissions or sell his art.
And if that's not enough, you might also be drawn by being in good company… other Ashes pledgers include
Dean Haspiel, Dan Kieran (CEO of unbound), Rebecca Smart (CEO of Osprey, which owns Angry Robot), Kieron Gillen, Sean Phillips, Mike Collins, Chris Ryall (editor of IDW, who published Smoke), Barry Kitson, Paul Cornell, Jim Dougan (Act-I-Vate), Mark Waid, Laurenn McCubbin, David Marquez, Janelle Asselin (ex DC, now Disney editor)… oh, and me.
Come on in, the Ashes are lovely…
